Break The Chains

It’s true that from an early age, we learn and eventually become teachers ourselves. Learning and teaching are crucial to the strength of humanity, but perhaps the balance has been lost.

As we learn about hazards like fire and dangerous animals, fear becomes a valuable tool that helps us avoid risk and disaster. However, as our understanding of the physical world extends to the social one, fear evolves into anger or embarrassment.

We become self-conscious and begin to consider ourselves in the eyes of others, which can lead to the development of ego and a sense of self-importance that holds us back from truly understanding ourselves.

Our understanding of our place in society often extends to material possessions that we believe award us stature among our peers. We feed our ego with clothes, toys, and titles, unaware that we starve our self-esteem.

We begin to value the opinions of others more than our own, and we look for validation from those we admire or love. We may even aspire to be like someone we claim to hate in the hopes of changing them.

However, it’s important to remember our chains are relative, not reality. Nationality, religion, time, money, employment, home, upbringing, and hobbies are all aspects of our lives that have been thrust upon us, but we are not completely blameless.

We have a responsibility to guide others and help shape their perceptions, just as others have done for us. Breaking free from these chains requires bravery, acceptance, honesty, and love, with the blessing of the Divine.

We must strip away the veil of lies in all aspects of our being until we truly know ourselves. And when we are ready, the way forward will become clear. It’s time to take responsibility for our lives and create the world we want to live in.
